It was high-time we gave some focus to our print designer and illustrator Han Liv, a Camberwell College of Arts graduate. Han is actually an old school friend of mine, having gone to the same primary school together and relatives living on the same street throughout childhood … our world’s collided once again post-university and well into Han’s blossoming career.
Han focuses on illustrations, part of a collective called Hey Day, her illustrations are available to buy on prints and sweatshirts. It so -happened that well into the process of selecting some key designs for our Autumn Winter collection created for us by NTU Fashion Design graduate Emily Hart, Han approached me just as I needed to find an experienced print designer to develop Emily’s initial print ideas.
For our Autumn Winter 2012 Collection, Han very kindly took on the task of creating us a completely unique bespoke print which would later be printed onto a beautifully soft cotton silk. We discussed the ethereal inspirations behind the collection, the colour palette, the hint of cubism that offered a contrast to the fluid drape detail underpinning the collection that we wanted to achieve.
